Dermashape – Frequently Asked Questions
What is Dermashape?
Dermashape is a relaxing, non-invasive treatment that uses gentle suction to stimulate the lymphatic system, improve circulation, and encourage the body’s natural detoxification processes. Many clients also notice smoother-looking skin and body contouring benefits as a result of improved lymphatic flow.
⸻
What is the lymphatic system?
Your lymphatic system is your body’s drainage and filtration system. It helps remove waste, excess fluid, toxins, and cellular debris while supporting immune function. Unlike your heart, the lymphatic system does not have its own pump—it relies on movement, hydration, and muscle contractions to keep fluid moving.
⸻
What are the benefits of Dermashape?
Many clients report benefits such as:
• Reduced puffiness and water retention
• Improved circulation
• Support for healthy lymphatic drainage
• Reduction in the appearance of cellulite
• Improved skin texture
• Increased feeling of lightness and relaxation
• Support for overall wellness
Results vary from person to person.
⸻
Does the treatment hurt?
No. Most clients describe Dermashape as very relaxing. The gentle suction feels similar to a deep tissue massage and can be adjusted to your comfort level.
⸻
How long does a session last?
Most appointments last approximately 45 minutes.
⸻
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone’s goals are different.
Many clients notice changes after their first visit, but for optimal lymphatic support and body contouring, we typically recommend a series of 6–12 sessions, depending on your goals.
⸻
Is there any downtime?
No. You can return to your normal activities immediately following your appointment.
Some clients notice increased urination, thirst, or mild fatigue as their body processes excess fluid. These effects are temporary.
⸻
What should I do before my appointment?
For the best results:
• Drink plenty of water before your appointment.
• Wear comfortable clothing.
• Eat a light meal if needed.
• Avoid arriving dehydrated.
⸻
What should I do after my appointment?
To maximize your results, we recommend:
• Drink plenty of water.
• Avoid high-fat foods for the first 6 hours after treatment.
• Walk or perform light movement for about 30 minutes.
• Continue staying well hydrated.
• Dry brushing and Epsom salt baths may further support lymphatic flow.
⸻
Why should I avoid fats after treatment?
Dermashape encourages the release of stored fats into the lymphatic system to be processed by the body. Limiting dietary fats for approximately six hours allows your body to prioritize metabolizing the released fats before processing new dietary fats.
⸻
Who is a good candidate for Dermashape?
Dermashape may be beneficial for individuals who:
• Experience fluid retention
• Feel bloated or puffy
• Want to support lymphatic drainage
• Desire smoother-looking skin
• Want to complement a healthy lifestyle
• Are looking for a relaxing wellness treatment
⸻
Can Dermashape help me lose weight?
Dermashape is not a weight-loss treatment. Its primary purpose is to support healthy lymphatic drainage, improve circulation, and encourage the body’s natural detoxification processes.
That said, many clients notice a decrease in weight or body measurements during a series of treatments. This is often related to the reduction of excess fluid retention, improved lymphatic flow, and healthier elimination of waste products—not direct fat loss alone. Individual results vary, and the best long-term outcomes are achieved when Dermashape is combined with a balanced diet, regular movement, proper hydration, and a healthy lifestyle.
⸻
Is Dermashape safe?
Dermashape is a non-invasive treatment and is generally well tolerated. Before your appointment, we will review your health history to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for you.
⸻
Who should not receive Dermashape?
You may need to postpone treatment or receive medical clearance if you have/are:
• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Active infection or fever
• Blood clots or deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
• Certain cancers or are undergoing active cancer treatment (unless approved by your physician)
• Severe kidney disease
• Open wounds or skin infections in the treatment area
If you are unsure whether Dermashape is right for you, please contact us before scheduling.
⸻
What should I wear?
For your comfort, we recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.
Because Dermashape is a full-body treatment, you will be asked to undress to your level of comfort and lie beneath a blanket on the treatment table. You are welcome to keep your undergarments on if you prefer.
Your privacy and comfort are very important to us. Throughout your session, only the area being treated will be uncovered. All other areas of your body will remain securely draped and covered at all times. As we move from one treatment area to the next, the previously treated area will be re-covered before another area is exposed.
Our goal is to provide a professional, relaxing, and comfortable experience while maintaining your privacy throughout your entire treatment.
⸻
Can I combine Dermashape with other services?
Absolutely! Many clients choose to combine Dermashape with our Bioenergetic Wellness Consultation as part of a comprehensive wellness plan focused on identifying and addressing underlying imbalances.
⸻
How much does Dermashape cost?
• Single Session: $175
• 6 Session Package: $960 (Save $90)
• 12 Session Package: $1,800 (Save $300)
